Luckily, you don’t need the best of the best to get reliable gaming performance. GPU: The thing about the GPU is that it can’t be swapped out and upgraded later, so you need to be real choosy about which one you pick, as this component will determine how well your machine runs games. You don’t need a powerful GPU for something like Fortnite, say. Benjamin Piatt Runkle circa 1857, then an undergraduate student at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He is now buried in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia. He died on Sigma Chi's 61st birthday in Ohio. He was the only founder to serve as Grand Consul. After the army he was ordained an Episcopal priest. Runkle stayed in the army as a career and retired as a major general. He was badly wounded at the Battle of Shiloh and left for dead on the battlefield. When the Civil War began Runkle joined the Union Army. Runkle was known for having a fierce pride and was suspended from Miami University when he fought a member of Beta Theta Pi for sneering at his badge. Runkle helped design the badge of Sigma Chi based on the story of Constantine and the vision of the Cross. Benjamin Piatt Runkle (Septem– June 28, 1916) was born in West Liberty, Ohio. The White Cross and the motto " In Hoc Signo Vinces" are examples of the Constantine link. Much of Sigma Chi's heraldry was inspired by the legendary story of the Emperor Constantine from the Battle of Milvian Bridge against Maxentius. It is possible this action could have been forced upon the group as there was already a Sigma Phi Society. The eventual theft of Sigma Phi's constitution, rituals, seals, and other records from Lockwood's room in Oxford in January 1856 prompted them to change the name of the fraternity to Sigma Chi. Lockwood used his business training to help organize the fraternity in its early years. On June 28, 1855, the organization was founded under the name Sigma Phi Fraternity. The six men decided to form their own fraternity along with William Lewis Lockwood, a student from New York who had not joined a fraternity. Runkle resigned, and after the parent chapter at Yale University was contacted, all six men were formally expelled. The other four would be allowed to stay in the fraternity. The leaders of the rebellion, Runkle and Scobey, were to be expelled from the fraternity. Reid had told Millikin his side of the dispute and they had arrived to punish the group for not supporting their Delta Kappa Epsilon brother. Reid brought a Delta Kappa Epsilon alumnus named Minor Millikin from a nearby town. Whitelaw Reid, one of the other brothers who supported the Delta Kappa Epsilon member as poet, was the only one to arrive. In February 1855 Runkle and his companions planned a dinner for their brothers in an attempt to seal the rift. Both sides saw this as a matter of principle and over the next few months their friendships became distanced. The chapter had twelve members total and were evenly divided on the issue. Although Thomas Bell and Daniel Cooper were not members of Erodelphian they had aligned themselves with the four dissenting members. He was supported by five of his brothers, but four others, James Caldwell, Isaac Jordan, Benjamin Runkle, and Franklin Scobey, supported another man who was not a member of the fraternity. In the fall of 1854 the literary society was to elect its poet and a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon was nominated for the position. Several members of Miami University's Delta Kappa Epsilon chapter (of which all but one of Sigma Chi's founders were members) were also members of the Erodelphian Literary Society. Jordan, Daniel William Cooper, Franklin Howard Scobey, and James Parks Caldwell as the result of a disagreement over who would be elected Poet in the Erodelphian Literary Society of Miami University in Ohio. Sigma Chi was founded in 1855 by Benjamin Piatt Runkle, Thomas Cowan Bell, William Lewis Lockwood, Isaac M. According to the fraternity's constitution, "the purpose of this fraternity shall be to cultivate and maintain the high ideals of friendship, justice, and learning upon which Sigma Chi was founded." Like all fraternities, Sigma Chi has its own colors, insignia, and rituals. Sigma Chi is divided into seven operational entities: the Sigma Chi Fraternity, the Sigma Chi Foundation, the Sigma Chi Canadian Foundation, the Risk Management Foundation, Constantine Capital Inc., the Blue and Gold Travel Services, and the newly organised Sigma Chi Leadership Institute. The fraternity was founded on June 28, 1855, at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, by members who split from the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. The fraternity has 244 active undergraduate chapters and 152 alumni chapters across the United States and Canada and has initiated over 350,000 members. Sigma Chi ( ΣΧ) International Fraternity is one of the largest North American fraternal literary societies. With a 4K UHD quality picture, 2,800 Lumens of brightness, and an ultra-short throw distance, the Formovie Theater laser projector is already impressive. And while all projectors benefit from external speakers, this model's 30-watt 2.2-channel speakers and subwoofer can do a fine job on their own - and give you the freedom to take the LSP7T Premiere anywhere. Like some of our other picks, the Samsung LSP7T Premiere also includes a filmmaker mode for authentic projection. It comes ready for the modern smart home thanks to Samsung's Tizen OS platform, giving you access to all the streaming services you need (Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Hulu, Disney+, and more), as well as support for Alexa, Google Assistant, and Bixby voice assistants allowing you to give voice commands to control playback, search for shows, or operate other smart devices in your home. It also supports HDR10+ for good levels of color and contrast, and with 2,200 lumens it's bright enough for even the brightest of rooms. The Premiere LSP7T offers a beautiful 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution in sizes from 90 to 120 inches, and the UST design means you can place it only inches away (9.7 inches for a 90-inch screen to 16 inches for 120) from the wall or screen and still get excellent results. Here we're going to focus on the 120-inch LSP7T model, mostly because it's more than enough image size for most people, and it's $3,000 cheaper. Samsung's The Premiere ultra-short-throw (UST) laser projectors (they come in 120- and 130-inch variants) are a great way to turn your living room into a high-end home theater. Hisense has been quite innovative in the laser projection arena over the years and continues to innovate, announcing some new laser projectors at CES 2023, debuting some small projectors capable of throwing images upwards of 150 inches. Hisense's projector also comes with a few different modes to help out certain activities, including a gaming mode that enables automatic low latency, and a filmmaker mode that disables motion processing so you get the most authentic projection images possible. The Hisense PX1-PRO Laser Cinema runs on the Android TV platform, which means you can install apps from the Google Play store, including all the streaming services you need (Netflix, YouTube TV, Amazon Prime and more), and Chromecast capabilities allows you to cast content from a variety of devices. Dolby Atmos compatibility is also built-in for audio improvements, a feature many projectors miss out on. The model also comes with HDMI eARC, which we love to see for easy setup and speaker passthrough without losing any audio quality or image optimization that your content may support. The useful ultra short throw designation of this projector also means that it can sit as close as 0.9 feet away from your screen or panel, allowing for versatility in placement. With peak brightness that can reach 2,200 lumens, this 4K (3840 x 2160) projector can cast an image from 90 to 130 inches in size, and supports Dolby Vision and HDR 10 and HLG for rich contrast, too. That makes it a great pick for those who are used to a vivid image and don't want to give up any color accuracy on a projector. This slim and stylish-looking home theater projector uses Hisense's TriChroma engine to produce amazingly accurate colors, covering the full range of the BT.2020 color gamut with its RGB lasers. Not only is it slick looking, but it's easy to set up in even small rooms because of its ultra short-throw design, has a bright color-accurate image, supports Dolby Atmos sound, and runs on the Android TV platform for access to all kinds of streaming services.īut if you're just getting started in your hunt for the projector that's right for you, we've also pulled together some other great options for you that range in price, features, portability, and uses from gaming to backyard movie nights. Luminar Neo is an AI-powered photo editor that turns any portrait into a stunning masterpiece. Now you can load any tool on any layer, use tools multiple times, and avoid the performance penalty that existed with previous versions of Luminar. The developers at Skylum created a new software engine to address this problem with performance. Since a user could potentially use any tool in Luminar 4 on a layer, the software had to load every tool for use, though most of them wouldn’t be used on the layer. Many users liked having layers at their disposal, but there was a performance problem that came with layers. The last tool in the Luminar line of products to have layers was Luminar 4, which is now an End of Life product. Layers are essential to photography compositing and other advanced photo processing techniques. However, it adds tools commonly associated with competing image editors and puts a new spin on using them by implementing AI technology, in some cases. Luminar Neo continues the use of AI tools found in Luminar AI. What Features does Luminar Neo Add That Aren’t in Luminar AI? It uses the AI capabilities found in Luminar AI but adds often-requested features like layers and advanced masking. It goes beyond the capabilities of Luminar AI to allow users to create results that are more challenging and artistic. Luminar Neo is an image editor from Skylum. That’s because it’s going to have features like Layers and Advanced Masking that many photographers requested over the past year. In some regard, you can think of Luminar Neo as the upgrade to Luminar 4. Luminar AI is the entry-level product of the Luminar Family, so where does that put Luminar Neo?
